In-House Laboratory
When you have a pet or farm animal that is injured or not feeling well, finding out what is wrong quickly is important. At Animal Medical Center of Emmett, we have an in-house laboratory and advanced imaging and diagnostics equipment that enables us to find out what is wrong and begin the appropriate treatment quickly.
While a physical exam is a good place to start when an animal is having a problem, it does not always provide answers. Veterinarians commonly use bloodwork, fecal exams, and urinalysis to better gauge what’s going on. These tests are also commonly performed for routine purposes. While many veterinarians need to have these tests processed by an off-site facility, our in-house laboratory allows us to get answers quickly. We even offer in-house fine needle aspiration, or FNH, biopsies for pets who may be suffering from cancer.
We also have access to digital x-ray and ultrasound equipment. These tools allow us to see inside animals even when we are away from the office.
